2018/2019 Year-End Tax Planning Letter
Dear Clients and Friends:
As always, thank you for trusting us with your taxes. If you are new to us, we can only promise to treat your taxes – and finances – as our own. That’s why we don’t let anything out of the office that hasn’t been prepared and reviewed multiple times – to make sure you pay the least amount of tax – legally.
This advisory is lengthy and detailed; we apologize for asking for your time, but have only included that which we think is vital – and have tried to explain it as simply as possible.
Our Mission
Our clients need to know that we give their tax return our best work. It is a matter of pride that our clients do not overpay their taxes.
What this Letter is
Our commitment to you includes updating you on things you should know and consider doing before the end of 2018 to save on taxes, and some ideas for 2019. In 2018, from our own internal surveys, @ 87% of self-prepared returns had errors and over 43% of other tax preparers returns had errors. None of our tax returns have been returned by the IRS in the last 7 years.
Executive Summary
Often we see returns prepared by other tax professionals that also miss deductions or tax credits and it costs the taxpayer unnecessary tax dollars (because it isn’t the preparers money – it is yours). Not us – we fight for our clients.
